For over 30 years, La Crosse's own The Yoga Place is recognized as one of the best-equipped lyengar (eye-yen-gar) yoga studios in the country.
I found yoga after about 10 years of running, cycling and triathlon. I was amazed at how much this particular method of yoga helped me get in tune with my body, mind and spirit. First, getting my body back into alignment, building strength and flexibility. Then learning more about the meditation-in-action aspect of yoga; how to engage the breath, how to calm the mind... and most importantly, how to use these tools off the mat as well. How I wish I had found this method when I was younger! Lyengar yoga is amethodology of learning yoga developed by B.K.S. Iyengar.
An ever-evolving and dynamic practice, lyengar yoga is tailored for every body no matter what ability, age, gender or experience. At The Yoga Place, we provide an atmosphere of learning, rather than just doing, that can serve you throughout your lifetime.
Aside from yoga, I love to bike, hike, and spend time with my husband and our families. There are so many great hiking trails and places to bike in our area!
With the COVID-19 pandemic, The Yoga Place has been offering classes live and online since March and we will continue online through the winter. Our online classes are live and interactive, not prerecorded. Our teachers see you and engage with you, providing the same individual attention and support, as much as possible, as our live classes. Check out our schedule here.
Downtown La Crosse is a beautiful city with great and resilient people; the geography of the river and nearby trails are amazing, and we have a lot of cool shops. I believe we'll survive this pandemic and come back even stronger, I'm sure of it!
